Happy Easter Sunday! I’m sat in the sun with my chocolate egg more ready than ever to get back in to blogging. I’ve taken a little break to refresh my blogging content whilst working on a little side project – all of which will be revealed soon.
To tie in with the whole “spring cleaning” topic, I’ve stripped back my makeup routine a lot. Anything heavy duty has been put to the back of the drawer as I’ve once again been opting for a more minimal and fresh looking face. If a product doesn’t give me that healthy glow then it hasn’t made its way to my face.
The most important asset to my Spring face which I’m surprised to only have discovered early this year is the Fresh Nude Foundation from The Body Shop. The clue is in the name with the word “fresh”, it truly brightens up my skin without feeling like I have an extra layer on my face. Unsurprisingly, I match with the lightest shade: 010 Chelsea Porcelain and pair it with the specially designed Fresh Nude Foundation Brush or bounce it in with a beauty blender.
In addition to this, I’ve been glowing up my cheeks with the Clarins Blush Prodige in Soft Peach and Colourpop’s Super Shock highlighter in Flexitarian, both of which somehow still look untouched. I haven’t delved in to my bronzer collection in the mornings with this perfect pair on the go, the Colourpop highlighter glides on like butter whilst the blusher adds a little pop of pink to my cheeks.
In terms of eyes, I’ve been sweeping the remains of the above cheek products across my eyelids giving an easy shine to my eyes on busy mornings then finishing them of with the Bobbi Brown Everything Mascara. I’m not blessed with naturally wispy lashes but with mascara paired with a warmed up eyelash curler, my lashes are set perfectly for the day.
To top the look of with lips I’ve surprisingly been choosing lipsticks/stix over matte liquid lipsticks. (what has my blogging break done to me?) I’ve been making my way through the Colourpop Lippie Stix in Oh Snap which is a mauve/pink toned nude shade also with a super creamy formula. I’ve fallen back in love with pink lippies!
I’d love to know if you’ve switched up your makeup or beauty products for Spring?
I don’t think I tend to switch up my make up routine, but I know with a bit more sun, I feel more confident in my skin to not wear as much as I usually would. Love trying new mascaras, so will look into the one you mentioned!

I tend to wear makeup less in the warmer months too, it’s nice to just let your skin breathe every now and then! Thank you for your comment x
I neeeeeed to try out the body shop foundation, i want something ‘fresh’ for the spring months x
The Body Shop one will be perfect if that’s what you’re looking for, I can’t recommend enough! x
I haven’t tried any of these products but that Bobbi brown mascara sounds lush. Bobbi brown never disappoints it seems. That body shop foundation sounds amazing too! XX corinne
Despite being more on the pricey side I can agree that Bobbi Brown products are of such high quality! The Body Shop isn’t much far behind though I must say! xx
All these products seem really cool! I don’t know a whole ton about makeup so I’ll have to look at them and see what I think
That’s great lovely! There’s plenty of makeup inspiration here if you ever need more info! x
I’ve started to use the new concealer from Revolution to brighten the areas around my eyes and I’ve started to take better care of my skin. I love how your blog looks!
Thank you love! I’ve just ordered a bunch of new Revolution products including the new concealer so hopefully it works for me too! x
Oooohhh I pride myself on being quite the mascara expert but this is one I’ve never tried! I also love the colour pop lippies, my fave shade is lumiere! x

I don’t think I’ve ever seen the shade Lumiere, I’ll need to go check it out lovely! The Bobbi Brown mascara is also one to watch out for! x
I don’t really switch my makeup up too much in summer. Usually just lighten my blush colour a bit and use more matte foundations because my skin is too dry for them in winter. I still haven’t tried any colourpop. That needs to change soon! x

Thank you Sophie, you’ll need to try Colourpop at some point this year, everything is super affordable yet amazing quality! x
I’ve personally never tried any of these products but the mascara sounds rather appealing – my eyelashes need all the help they can get! The oh snap lippie sounds like such a pretty shade as well. Thanks for sharing, Zara!

Thank you! The mascara is definitely one to try, I don’t have super wispy lashes but the Bobbi Brown mascara has really transformed them. And it is mini so perfect for travelling!
Your makeup sounds gorgeous! I also like to change my make up when it start to get nicer. I usually switch to a BB Cream, drop the eyeliner, go for a coral/peachy eyeshadow rather than a brown or Burgundy 🙂
Perrine
Thank you Perrine, I do love a good BB cream also. I’ve featured many on my blog if you’re ever in need of a recommendation. I love the sound of coral/peachy eyeshadow too, it made me think of the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette which is perfect for Spring! x
I have switched from using the Zoella Snowella range to the classic collection as it’s more of a spring time scent I feel!
I spotted the Wonderhand cream in the photo! Absolutely love it!

The classic range will forever be one of my favourites from Zoe, well done for spotting it in the photo! xx
I used to work as a makeup expert in The Body Shop and this foundation banged so much with customers as it brightened the skin so much! Did you know it has rosewater in too so it’s nice and hydrating for the skin 🙂 I’ve never tried anything from Bobbi Brown either but I’d love to, the mascara sounds super lovely! I love a natural but noticeable look.
Alice Xx
That’s amazing, I didn’t even know it included rose water! That will explain why my skin feels so hydrated when I use it! Thank you Alice xx
I love the sound of your fresh and minimal Spring look. I don’t really like heavy makeup so the sound of the fresh nude foundation sounds like my kinda thing. I love how it brightens the skin too. I’m going to keep my eye out for this next time I am in The Body Shop! Great review Zara 😘 xx

Such a lovely comment Bexa, thank you! The Body Shop foundation does exactly what it promises so I’m sure you’ll love it too! xx
I love a switch in makeup routine when the season changes and I’m always in need of new products to try out! Lovely post x
Thank you! I’m the same, if it isn’t my makeup then I love switching up my fashion style! x
I keep meaning to try colour pop! Thanks for reminding me 🙂
You’re welcome lovely, keep looking out for their free UK shipping codes x
I’ve never tried the Body shop foundation but it looks great! I always start making my makeup more dewy and glowy in spring/summer! x
I love having dewy skin so this foundation really is perfect, I’m sure you’d love it! x
Love the photo concept. I’m curious about the body shop foundation. Loved their skin care products but never used their make up line. Might need to drop by at iur local store. Great blog post. 👍
Thank you! If you’re a fan of their skin care I’m sure you’ll love The Body Shop foundation also. It’s definitely worth trying out next time you’re in store x
I haven’t switched up my makeup as such, but I do opt for more peachy nudes instead of browns as the weather warms up. I’m always on the lookout for a new foundation. I currently use Estee lauder double wear. The coverage is amazing but it is super heavy. I’d love something with great coverage but that’s light! Answers on a postcard haha
I love the sound of peachy nudes, it seems to be a popular colour choice around Spring! If I’m ever after a more heavy duty foundation then I’ll need to look in to the Estee Lauder one, thank you lovely! x
I have never tried any of these products before! I wish colourpop was easier to get in the UK as the highlighter and lipstick sound amazing! I love wearing more pink tones on my lips too in the spring/summer rather than dark matte lips!

Wouldn’t it just be amazing if we had a Colourpop store in the UK! Let me know if you have any nice pink toned lipstick recommendations too x
I am yet to switch up my Spring makeup, I haven’t in the past but this year I am loving the fresh and glowy look. Love the sound of the body shop foundation, I hope they do it in my shade because I am on the hunt for an affordable “fresh” foundation for Spring
There’s 16 shades in the foundation so hopefully one of them is the perfect match for you! Let me know if you try it out lovely! x
As a teenager The Body Shop was my favorite brand! And i haven’t tried anything from Bobby Brown yet i think is time! 🙂
The Body Shop has always been one of my favourites too, I can remember getting my first BB cream from them! x
I love that Clarins blusher, it looks so pretty! I’ve been meaning to get my hands on their bronzers this summer, so I might have to add a blusher in there too!
I’ve never tried a Clarins bronzer although I’m sure they’re just as lovely as their blushers. I’ll need to check them out love x
The bobbi brown mascaa sounds interesting!!
Lovely picks 🙂
