Another month over, and once again I’m updating my makeup bag. I’ve cleared out my collection (as you may have spied on my insta story) and also added quite a few new pieces to my drawers, so my December face is full of new and exciting products to try. It’s not complete as I’ve not yet filled it with glittery, festive products but I’ve brought out the very best for now. Here’s what I’ve picked:

Skin wise, I’m after as much hydration as I can get during the coldest months, so I’ve opted for an old favourite this December and added the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation. It’s full of fruit extracts and vitamin E which my skin seems to soak up, providing such a wonderful glow even on the dullest December days.

New to my collection, I’ve tried and tested a few products from NEXT’s new beauty line. The Nx translucent powder has gone straight in to my bag, it’s not the most pigmented but can easily be built up. The nail polishes have got to be my favourite from the collection, I can’t wait to pick up some more in store and keep them all on display.

As for my lips, they are the first place to feel the effects of cold weather so lip balms are essential through the December period. As well as my trusted Vaselines, I’ll be lathering up using the Ted Baker vanilla lip balm and the Jack wills Rose Lip balm on days where I want a little pop of colour.

For eyes, I often leave the bronze and gold for parties and occasions in the festive period so I’ve saved all my warm toned mattes for everyday use. I can already tell my Morphe 35K will be well-loved throughout December although my pink singles from NYX will still make an appearance.

What are you popping in your December makeup bag? I’d love to know!

  1. I’ve just tried the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation for the first time last week and I am obsessed! It’s so nice and the coverage is great. Love the look of that Jack Wills rose lip balm too. It looks so nourishing, great for winter. X

  2. The healthy mix foundation is definitely one of the best drugstore options out there, I’m so glad you love it too! x

  3. I’ve heard really good things about the Bourjois foundation – hopefully it works well for you! I’ve just followed you on BlogLovin’ – love your blog 🙂

  5. I’ve heard such fabulous things about the bourjois foundation but I didn’t know it had Vitamin E in it, I love vitamin E skincare stuff! A lip balm is always needed in your makeup bag this time of year, I switch up my matte lip products for softer satin ones this season!

  9. I’ve heard such wondeful things about the Bourjois foundation, but I’m actually yet to try it because I definitely prefer a matte finish to a glow! The Next packaging is absolutely stunning – I adore anything rose gold.. 😍

  10. You may prefer the Boujois foundation in summer time, I know a lot of others who prefer matte foundations at this time of year. I always gravitate towards rose gold packaging too, it completely draws me in! xx

  11. What type of skin do you have? I’m always on the look out for a new foundation. My skin gets a wee bit oily just on the tzone. Would this foundation work for me do you think? I’m also quite pale lol.

  12. I’m quite pale too, living in Scotland, and the Bourjois one was a lovely match for me! I have normal to dry skin although a few of my friends have a similar skin type to you and also love the Bourjois foundation so I think it’s a really versatile product. I’d love to know your thoughts if you decide to try it out! x

  16. I’d recommend going in to store to see the Nx collection as it didn’t look half as good online! I’ll need to check out the red lippie you’ve mentioned too! x

  17. Love this! And I actually have not heard of any items on this list except for NYX, so this is exciting for me!

I recently added some Skin Finish Setting Powder by Mac! I got this as opposed to Laura Mercier.

  18. I keep meaning to try out some more Mac skin products. I love the prep and prime collection so I’m sure I’d love the others just as much! x

  19. I’ve used that foundation since I was thirteen years old! You won’t be disappointed it’s fantastic and makes me look so much healthier and glowy! Some great choices in her! Loved this post x
