A big selection of my makeup collection is made up from travel size products. These down sized wonders are what I use on a daily basis for a number of reasons. Yes, they are perfect for travelling and throwing in to handbags but they have so many other plus points that are worth considering when you next pick up a few products.

Miniature

The obvious reason: they’re small. Travel sized or ‘down sized’ products are little saviours when on to go, for popping in purses and handbags and travelling of course. But being small and compact is also a plus when it comes to products such as bronzers and lip balms that last a long time. This way, you don’t have to splurge out on a product that won’t be used excessively.

Try Before You Buy (the full sized product)

Especially when it comes to high-end products, I often pick up a mini sized version of a product first. This way, I can try more brands at a lower cost and if I’m not head over heels for a product then it doesn’t feel like wasted money.

Keeping Products At Their Best

In terms of mascaras, I always buy them in travel size when possible. Not only are they proven to dry out less from being in a smaller contained space, they are also usually around half the price of the full sized product. Mascaras also should be replaced every few months to remain as hygienic as possible. So switching to mini mascaras will mean fresher and less clumpy lashes more often. You’ll never have to use mascaras that should’ve seen a bin months ago again!

So those are my main tips for buying travel size makeup, you can pick up mini products in probably more places than you thought, especially around Christmas time when all of the holiday gift sets come in. I’ve already spied lots of mini Real Techniques and Benefit goodies in Boots!

Let me know if you own any travel size makeup or have any recommendations.

  5. I’m the absolute same. I love purchasing travel sizes products, in fact I just scheduled a similar post to this last week ready for next year. Number one, it saves me space in my make up drawers. And number two, I definitely prefer to try a travel sized product before committing to buy the mighty (more expensive) full sized product 🙂 loved this post
