I was always sceptical about lip palettes, doubting the colour pigmentation and how long they’d actually last. So with that thought stapled in my mind, my makeup collection felt complete without one for many years.

It wasn’t until a couple of months ago when I discovered the Anastasia Beverly Hills lip palette that I actually reconsidered giving one ago. I wasn’t up for spending £40 on something I was yet to even know if I liked, so opted for a cheaper alternative instead. And I’m so glad I did.

I picked up the Freedom Makeup London Pro Lipstick Palette from my nearby Superdrug not half expecting the results I achieved. The palette itself consists of 24 nude (ish) shades: 8 matte and 16 sheer. The best way to describe it is that it’s truly like lipstick in a palette. I would choose the array of colours in this over my lipstick collection mostly any day. (Excluding liquid lipsticks) Although matte, they aren’t drying and last around 4-6 hours without top up.

Although a few of the more pinky shades aren’t quite my colour, the selection of shades in the palette is amazing, and the palette itself is a great compact for traveling. It retails for £10 on Superdrug but is currently down to £5 on Tam Beauty. For 24 everyday shades, the price is incredible, especially with higher end and higher priced competitors.

To apply the product I use a flat, rounded lip brush but a cotton bud works equally well. I’d really recommend these to anyone who does freelance makeup/artistry. As apposed to regular lipsticks, these can be easily mixed to create new shades. Also in the collection is a palette consisting of red shades and a deep purple version too, both of which I’m keen to try even though I wear mostly nudes.

That’s all for this post, I’d really recommend picking up one of the palettes, even if you only ever wear a few of the shades. I’d love to know if you’ve tried any lip palettes before?

You can find the palette on Superdrug here and Tam Beauty here.
