With a rainy day comes lots of opportunities and a chance to get things done. Yet it also provides the chance to cosy up in the warmth of your home as the outside splatters about in the cold and wet.

Rainy days are some of my favourite days when it isn’t summer, and living in Scotland means I am guaranteed a fair few of them. So with all the rainy days I have acquired a bunch of things to on them.

Pamper Party of 1

Sometimes, if my mood is matching the gloomy weather I’ll host myself a little pamper party. This often includes a hot bath using my favourite body wash, a facemask, relaxing music, my best moisturiser and painting my nails. I like to take time out for myself every now and then and what better day to do so than a rainy day.

Flower Pressing

This is a new-found love of mines but such a great thing to do! It’s such a simple thing to do and creates such a beautiful finished piece. If I have any flowers that have seen better days, instead of throwing them away I’ll press them using a few heavy books then frame them or use them for decoration.

Watch Movies

Rainy days are my favourite for watching classics such as The Sound Of Music or Harry Potter. I just love snuggling up with a cosy blanket and watching a movie, even if I have seen it countless times before. Some other favourites of mines are: ‘A Cinderella Story’, Father of the bride’ and any Disney movie!

Clear out

If you are in the right mind-set, rainy days provide the perfect opportunity to have a clear out. Whether it’s your full wardrobe or a makeup collection, you always feel much better once it’s done!

Catch up on TV/YouTube

I often have a long list of things to catch up on from TV series, to vlogs and tutorials, which is why we are all in need of a rainy day now and then to catch up on everything we’ve missed. I often find myself lying in a little later on a rainy morning, catching up on all the latest vlogs and tutorials.

Read other Blogs

One of my favourite sources of inspiration asides Pinterest if I’m struggling with what to write about is by reading others blogs. There are endless amounts of posts waiting to be read and ready to be interacted with. It’s also a way of finding out about new and exciting releases.

Take Photos & Write

If you are feeling inspired and have found good enough lighting, rainy days can be spent taking photos and writing blog posts. On a rainy day, I quite like handwriting posts and ideas whilst nestled under a blanket. After all, is it possible to schedule too many?

Read a book

Lastly, if you are still stuck on what to do, you can always indulge yourself in a book. It is a great chance to cosy up and read that book you have been meaning to finish or even start a new one! There are plenty to choose from and its a great way to relax after a long day.

I’d love to know what you spend your rainy days doing? Do you do any of the above?
